YCW DC | U.S.-China Trade War Beyond the Beltway with Jack Zhang
Fri, Oct 16 · 1:30 PM Elliott School of International Affairs · Foggy Bottom
A conversation with U. of Kansas Dr. Jack Zhang on his research studying trade wars and perspectives from teaching the next generation. The Sigur Center for Asian Studies and Young China Watchers DC are proud to present a conversation with Professor Jack Zhang. It is now eight years since the launch of U.S.-China tariff policies accompanied by ongoing discussion and analysis in Washington DC. However, the sectors most impacted lie outside the DMV, and a new generation of students is approaching China in this context. Jack Zhang studies the effects of tariffs on economics and politics from his vantage point at the University of Kansas, where he both researches and teaches students in the mid-west. Core to Dr. Zhang's philosophy is how different human stories and perspectives offer us new perspectives to think through complex geo-economic problems. Join us for a conversation about the diverse dialogues taking place throughout communities in the United States coming to terms with global trade policies and U.S.-China competition.
