A Busboys and Poetry Event hosted this week by Anthony D. Oakes!Hailing from North Carolina, Anthony D. Oakes is a District of Columbia resident who is taking comedy on the east coast by storm. His clean, yet edgy, southern, intellectual, witty humor will have you reeling with laughter. Performance cities include: Atlanta, New York, LA, Chicago, Virginia, Maryland, and DC. He has graced the stages of The Broadway, The Westside, and The Greenwich Village Comedy Clubs, in New York City. You can catch him locally at: The DC Drafthouse, The Bier Baron Comedy Loft, The Wonderland Ballroom, and Busboys and Poets. He also produces several comedy shows in the DMV area. Anthony currently host a radio show every Thursday at WLVS Radio called, Thursday Night Tea with Anthony, and can be found on all social media outlets.* * *For two hours, audiences can expect a diverse chorus of voices, and a vast array of professional spoken word performers, open mic rookies, musicians and a different host every week.
