Hill's Kitchen October Cookbook Club

Thu 29 Oct · 6:00 PM Hill's Kitchen · Eastern Market

Pull up a chair for our October Cookbook Club, and this month we are cooking from one of the most beloved cookbooks ever written. HOW IT WORKS Everyone prepares a dish from MASTERING THE ART OF FRENCH COOKING VOL. 1 by Julia Child ahead of the event. Once you register you'll receive access to a shared spreadsheet where you and fellow attendees can sign up for the recipe of your choice. Then on October 29th we gather in the kitchen at Hill's Kitchen to share the meal, talk through the author's perspective, and swap notes on our own experiences cooking through the book. Cookbook Club members also receive 15% off in-store for the month of October (appliances excluded). If you'd like a copy of the book you can add one to your ticket at checkout and pick it up in-store starting Thursday, October 2nd. $15 without book · $50 with book ABOUT THE BOOK Published in 1961, Mastering the Art of French Cooking introduced a generation of American home cooks to the techniques, flavors, and pleasures of French cuisine. Julia Child's meticulous instructions and warm, encouraging voice made one of the world's great cooking traditions feel genuinely approachable. More than sixty years later it remains one of the most useful and joyful cookbooks ever written. If you have never cooked from it, there has never been a better excuse. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Julia Child spent years living and studying in France before co-authoring what would become one of the most influential cookbooks in American history. She went on to host some of the most beloved cooking shows ever made, bringing French technique into American kitchens with warmth, humor, and an infectious love of food. She remains one of the most important figures in American culinary history.

Welcome to AskAlice

Hi, I'm Alice.

I go out a lot around DC, Virginia and Maryland, and I got tired of losing hours to Instagram Stories and a dozen venue calendars just to find out what was happening. So I built this to do that watching for me — real, confirmed events pulled from hundreds of sources, sorted so you can find your night instead of hunting for it.
