Top Not Another Home Movie Film Memoirs by GW Students (Fall 2026)

Thu, Dec 3 · 5:00 PM West Hall B108

B108. Attend a film festival, enjoy a special dinner and support GW student filmmakers! "Not Another Home Movie" is a University Writing course culminating in a final project: a short film created by each student. At the end of every semester, Hanan Daqqa, lecturer in writing and the founder of the Not Another Home Movie Film Festival, celebrates the top true and meaningful stories in her classes in a big public screening. The event includes dinner and a keynote speaker. This year it is even bigger and better because of Dean Betsy Shimberg and her amazing team on the Mount Vernon Campus. The annual film festival is becoming a tradition. The dining team is making it even more delicious with a menu that borrows flavors from the stories of the films.

Welcome to AskAlice

Hi, I'm Alice.

I go out a lot around DC, Virginia and Maryland, and I got tired of losing hours to Instagram Stories and a dozen venue calendars just to find out what was happening. So I built this to do that watching for me — real, confirmed events pulled from hundreds of sources, sorted so you can find your night instead of hunting for it.
