Community Film Screening: What Will I Become?

Mon, Nov 23 · 6:30 PM Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library · Downtown DC

In honor of Trans Day of Remembrance, join the Library, Trans Pride Washington DC, and filmmakers Lexie Bean and Logan Rozos for a screening and discussion of the award-winning documentary What Will I Become? Following the film, there will be a conversation with the filmmaking team and Trans Pride Washington DC director Bianca Sprague about the documentary and its themes. Quiet reflection space and active listeners will be available for audience members during the film. About the Film: Directors Lexie Bean and Logan Rozos weave their own experiences together with the stories of Blake Brockington and Kyler Prescott, two young trans men who were poets, musicians, and community advocates. The film follows their joys and struggles, their deaths by suicide, the media attention that followed, and the aftermath in their communities. It also lifts up resources that offer trans boys and the broader LGBTQIA2S+ community care, resilience, and affirming ideas of masculinity. At its heart, it asks why transmasculine people are so vulnerable to living briefly and dying quietly, and what we will become as a society. The film premiered at the 2026 Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the Amnesty International Film Award. (Runtime: approximately 86 minutes.) Content note: This film includes discussion of suicide and grief and is recommended for ages 14+. Support resources will be available at the event. About the Directors : Lexie Bean is a multimedia artist whose work explores bodies, home, cyclical violence, and queerness. They are a Jerome Hill Fellow, a Lambda Literary Award finalist, and an author whose books include The Ship We Built. Logan Rozos is a New York–based actor and director whose credits include the Peabody-nominated series David Makes Man. Both are making their feature debut with this film. About the Moderato r: Bianca Rey Sprague is a Filipina-American immigrant, healthcare professional, and LGBTQ+ advocate with more than 25 years of healthcare experience. Bianca is the Executive Director of Trans Pride Washington DC - a trans-led, community-driven organization in Washington, DC.

Welcome to AskAlice

Hi, I'm Alice.

I go out a lot around DC, Virginia and Maryland, and I got tired of losing hours to Instagram Stories and a dozen venue calendars just to find out what was happening. So I built this to do that watching for me — real, confirmed events pulled from hundreds of sources, sorted so you can find your night instead of hunting for it.
