Latvian Film Night & Social

Fri, Nov 6 · 5:30 PM Embassy of Latvia · Dupont Circle

The Embassy of Latvia, in cooperation with the Washington Film Institute, invites you to a special screening of *Blizzard of Souls*. This acclaimed Latvian World War I epic is the highest-grossing film in Latvian box-office history, offering a profound look into a pivotal moment in the nation's past. Based on true events and a novel once banned by the Soviets, the film follows a young Latvian soldier as he confronts the brutal realities of war while Latvia strives for independence. It's a moving story that explores themes of courage, loss, identity, and the very birth of a nation. Join fellow film enthusiasts for an evening of Latvian cinema and cultural exchange. The event begins with a pre-screening social from 5:30–7:00 PM at The Ven Hotel (2015 Massachusetts Ave NW), followed by the film screening at 7:15 PM at Friends Meeting of Washington (2111 Decatur Pl NW). Please note that while an RSVP on Meetup is available, it does not serve as a ticket for admission. Tickets are required and can be purchased through the Washington Film Institute website.

Welcome to AskAlice

Hi, I'm Alice.

I go out a lot around DC, Virginia and Maryland, and I got tired of losing hours to Instagram Stories and a dozen venue calendars just to find out what was happening. So I built this to do that watching for me — real, confirmed events pulled from hundreds of sources, sorted so you can find your night instead of hunting for it.
