Walkaways trio at Red's Table in Reston, VA, 8-11pm The Walkaways are a Washington, DC-area based alt-country band making original music since 2006, touring actively in DC, VA, MD, NY and WV. In May 2024, the group released its revered fourth full-length album, “In Sepia”, with its fifth record "Like the Pull of the Moon" to follow close behind, set to drop in Oct 2025. The two new albums follow critically-acclaimed LPs After the Fall (2017), Romance & Medicine (2012), and Fifty Left to Burn (2008). The Walkaways’ sound is often described as alt-country or Americana (Washington Post, Washington City Paper, Washingtonian Magazine, Arlington Magazine), although their songs also draw from roots rock, traditional country, indie, blues, folk, and classic rock. Key influences include Wilco, The Band, Fruit Bats, Ryan Adams, Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, Springsteen, Caamp, Old 97s, and Talking Heads.
