BioInnovation in Action: A Free Family Day of Discovery at KID

Bring your curiosity—and your family—to a special BioInnovation Sunday Open Explore at KID, sponsored by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI)! All visitors will receive free General Admission entry to KID on November 15 courtesy of HHMI for a full day of hands-on discovery, featuring stunning microscopy images from HHMI’s Janelia Research Campus, real specimens to explore under microscopes, cell-mapping activities with robots, and fluorescent art that comes to life under UV light. Together, these experiences reveal how scientists use imaging, light, and fluorescent labels to understand the hidden world inside cells. Families can also explore KID’s other maker activities, enter raffles for HHMI baskets, and take home a cookie and swag. Suggested for children ages 6-14, but all ages are welcome.
