Collectors Talk with Morningstar: Demystifying the Art World

Thu, Oct 15 · 6:00 PM 52 O Street Studios · NoMa

Join Art Advisor Tyryn Goodson-Seck at Morton Fine Art for a candid monthly discussion on collecting, gallery culture, and living with art. Who gets to be an art collector—and what does that actually look like? Art surrounds our daily lives, yet the spaces where art is bought, sold, and exhibited often feel exclusive, opaque, and intimidating. Between pristine white walls and unspoken etiquette, it’s easy to feel like you don’t belong or that collecting is reserved only for a select few. Collectors Talk is a new, recurring monthly gathering designed to change that narrative. Presented by Morningstar Art Advisory and hosted inside the gallery at Morton Fine Art (52 O Street), this series creates an open, welcoming environment where anyone can learn, ask questions, and engage directly with contemporary art. Who Is This For? Curious art lovers who want to feel more comfortable in galleries and art spaces. Emerging collectors looking to make their first intentional purchase. Creatives, patrons, and collectors who want an unpretentious, thoughtful discussion about the contemporary art landscape. Admission & Logistics Cost: Free with RSVP. Capacity is limited to maintain an intimate, conversational atmosphere. Please reserve your ticket in advance. Location: Morton Fine Art, 52 O St NW, Washington, DC 20001. About the Organizer / Host Bio Morningstar Art Advisory provides bespoke curatorial guidance, strategic art acquisition services, and collection management for emerging and established collectors. Founded on the principle that engaging with art should be accessible, thoughtful, and personal, Morningstar bridges the gap between contemporary artists, galleries, and collectors. Host: Tyryn Goodson-Seck Tyryn Goodson-Seck is an art advisor, curator, and cultural advocate dedicated to demystifying the art world and helping individuals build meaningful collections that resonate with their lives and spaces.

Welcome to AskAlice

Hi, I'm Alice.

I go out a lot around DC, Virginia and Maryland, and I got tired of losing hours to Instagram Stories and a dozen venue calendars just to find out what was happening. So I built this to do that watching for me — real, confirmed events pulled from hundreds of sources, sorted so you can find your night instead of hunting for it.
