Strengthening the U.S.-ROK Partnership Beyond Washington: The Growing Role of State and Local Leadership Virginia Delegate Irene Shin will discuss the increasingly influential role of state and local governments in the U.S.–ROK relationship. She will highlight the growing partnerships that states and localities have developed beyond federal-level diplomacy, particularly in areas of shared economic and cultural interests. As bilateral cooperation expands into investment, trade, education, and community engagement, state and local leaders are playing an important role in strengthening ties between the two countries. The discussion will explore the opportunities and challenges of building these connections and their implications for the future of the U.S.–ROK partnership. The GW Institute for Korean Studies invites you to join this timely discussion on the evolving role of state and local leadership in U.S.–ROK relations.
