Soulful Experiences: Celebrating Black History Along the Rivers

Tue, Oct 20 · 5:30 PM The Gathering Spot DC · Foggy Bottom

Trace the stories of Black history and culture carried along the world's great rivers, with AmaWaterways and the Travel Circle DC. Some of the deepest stories in Black history and culture were carried along the world's great rivers. On October 20, the Travel Circle DC traces those waters with AmaWaterways, our featured river cruise partner for the evening, alongside Dr. Ray and Chef Marina. Monique Pingue of AmaWaterways joins us to share Soulful Experiences, a curated collection of river cruises shining a light on Black history and culture along the rivers of Europe, Asia, Egypt and South America. This is an evening of conversation and networking. Meet fellow travelers, trade stories, and settle into the kind of soulful conversation that makes a river feel like a homecoming. It may be where your next journey begins. Doors open at 5:30 PM, and you are welcome to join us anytime during the evening. At 6:15 PM, Monique takes the floor to share the stories behind Soulful Experiences and the river journeys that bring them to life, with time to connect before and after. Welcome to AskAlice

Hi, I'm Alice.

I go out a lot around DC, Virginia and Maryland, and I got tired of losing hours to Instagram Stories and a dozen venue calendars just to find out what was happening. So I built this to do that watching for me — real, confirmed events pulled from hundreds of sources, sorted so you can find your night instead of hunting for it.
