MBT Trail or Treat is a family friendly bike ride along the Met Branch Trail corridor. MBT Trail or Treat is a family friendly bike ride along the Met Branch Trail corridor. This is the fourth year the DC Trail Rangers have put on this event, and this year the ride is being organized in partnership with Ward 5 Family Biking. The ride will start at REI DC and end at the Brookland Halloween Party at Noyes Park*. Along the way, riders will stop at local businesses to trick or treat and receive candy and other treats. Due to the expected high number of riders, the ride route will largely avoid the actual Met Branch Trail and instead take parallel low stress streets that can handle a larger number of riders. This ride is open to all ages, but all youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult, and all riders must wear a helmet! *More information about the Brookland Halloween Party is below: The Eighth Annual Brookland Halloween Parade and Party is coming Sunday, October 25, to bring together neighbors, children, and their families for an afternoon of spooky and silly fun! Children of all ages are encouraged to show up in costumes for a parade leaving at 2PM from Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on 12th Street, led by the Catholic University Pep Band down the sidewalk and into Noyes Park for a family-friendly party. Friends of Noyes Park will provide music, food, face painting, glitter tattoos, bounce houses, science experiments, and other activities for children through 4:30PM, and will hold an after party at Right Proper Taproom.
