Bread Run 10K
Sun, Dec 6 · 10:00 AM Glen Echo Park
@ Start the 2026-2027 Snowball Series with a delicious 10K race: the DC Road Runners Bread Run. This race is one of the club’s hallmark events, dating back to 1980. Here is an overview of the race tradition: every runner brings a home-baked loaf of bread as their entry fee, and after the race, loaves are exchanged among participants. And here’s the twist: bread is awarded based on race finish placement! The faster you run, the earlier you get to choose from the delicious selection of homemade loaves. From sourdough to banana bread, it’s a tasty incentive to push your pace—and a fun way to celebrate the holiday season. Also, one loaf of home-baked bread is your entry fee. If you would like to select your own bread as your prize, that is fine, just as long as someone hasn’t already selected it. (The cost of entry for participants who do not bring home-baked bread is $10 plus processing fees.) Note : please label your bread with ingredients for the benefit of participants who have allergies. Runners can also choose to participate in the Gingerbread 2K Fun Run, which starts at 10:00 am, thirty minutes before the 10K.
