Gathering Light Exhibit
Wed, Nov 4 · 5:00 PM Fathom Gallery Prospect Street · Georgetown
Fathom Gallery Prospect Street (3251 Prospect Street NW, Suite 275) opens its doors on Wednesday, November 4 from 5PM to 7PM for an exhibit open house featuring Gathering Light, the first solo show by California artist Jennifer Magee. Guests are invited to enjoy light bites from Plan It to the T catering and bubbly while exploring the exhibit. Here, in Jennifer’s own words, is what inspired Gathering Light: “I have spent decades paying attention to the ordinary: a familiar path, a corner of the garden, the hour when light lands on a surface and stays just long enough to be noticed. My work is an argument for staying. In paint, cyanotype, and mixed media, I capture what daily attention gives back, with feeling always coming first. Gathering Light grew from my garden, my daily walks, and hikes across the desert Southwest, and invites you to wander, linger, and look closely.” (Photo courtesy of Fathom Gallery)
