Rekindle the Dream Hour

Sat, Oct 24 · 12:00 PM Alexandria, 3360, Alexandria

Exhausted working double shifts? There is a better way. Join us for "Rekindle the Dream Hour." A Free event for immigrant healthcare workers ATTENTION: Immigrant CNAs and Healthcare Workers in the DC Metro Region My fellow healthcare professional, there is a reason you came here and are reading this message today. I need you to read this carefully. Everyone back home thinks you made it. But you know the truth. If something happened to you tomorrow — your income stops. You have nothing. Your family has nothing. You pull double shifts in scrubs, with an aching back and feet, but the math doesn’t work — no matter how hard you work. You left your beloved family and flew over the oceans to come to America. You had a dream and the kind of determination most people only talk about. Maybe you already had a degree. Your community said, “go into healthcare, that is where the money is. Start as CNA and work your way up”. You chased the dream in healthcare, but alas, it wasn’t there. Somewhere between the third double shift this week and the fourth Tylenol for your back — you realize this is not the life you imagined when you got on that plane. Quietly you wonder, “is this all there is?” There is an even quieter feeling of shame about the work you do. It is time to rekindle your dream. Something is happening in your community that nobody is talking about loudly enough. “Rekindle the Dream Hour” is a free gathering for immigrant healthcare workers in the DC Metro region who are ready to stop surviving and start building. A small group of CNAs and healthcare workers have found a different path. These people were pulling double shifts just like you, people whose backs and feet hurt just like yours, people who smiled for the family photos back home while quietly drowning. Not another certification. Not nursing school. Not a third job or shift. In this event you will sit across from people who started exactly where you are — same scrubs, same double shifts, same empty bank account, and a mountain of credit card debt. You will sit across from people who know what it is like to send money home while your fridge is empty and credit card debt that is through the roof. People who found a legitimate, proven path to protected income that does not require another certification, degree, or another shift that destroys their body to earn it. Real people, real stories, and a new and real path — shown to you by someone who looks like you and has walked your path. And on October 24th 2026, they are going to show you exactly what they found. Something different. Something that works while they sleep. Something that is quietly changing the financial trajectory of immigrant healthcare workers right here in the DC Metro region. This is not a seminar. This is not a sales pitch. It is NOT a “get rich quick scheme”. We, the hosts, find “get rich schemes” disgusting. This is NOT another promise from someone who has never worn scrubs or sent money home while their own refrigerator was empty. This is your community. Sitting down together. Telling the truth. The truth about the math that never adds up no matter how many shifts you pull. The truth about what happens to you and your family if your body gives out before your bills do. The truth about what is possible when someone who looks like you, who started exactly where you are, finally shows you the door they found. Join Margaret Ricks and Bura Kamau for a free gathering “ Rekindle the Dream Hour ”— specifically for you – immigrant healthcare worker. This is for the really responsible and concerned healthcare workers who want to arm themselves financially against life’s injustices. You already know the truth. If something happened to you tomorrow — your income stops. You have nothing. Your family has nothing. And the sad truth, your bills continue. This event is FOR you if: You are an immigrant healthcare worker in the DC Metro region who is physically exhausted, financially stretched, and quietly desperate for a proven path that doesn't require destroying your body to earn a living. You believe deeply in your family's future. You are willing to listen, evaluate honestly, and act when something real is placed in front of you. This event is NOT for you if: You are content with your current situation. You believe the only way forward is more school, more certifications, more credentials. You have made peace with the double shift life and are not ready to question that story. You register for free events and never show up. You are looking a shortcut, or an argument. If that last paragraph made you uncomfortable — good. That means this seat has your name on it. If you are ready to finally see what is possible — from people who look like you and started exactly where you are — reserve your free seat right now. Do not hesitate, reserve your seat now. Seats are limited. Your family is waiting. This is not about working harder. You have already proven you can do that. This is about learning what nobody…

Welcome to AskAlice

Hi, I'm Alice.

I go out a lot around DC, Virginia and Maryland, and I got tired of losing hours to Instagram Stories and a dozen venue calendars just to find out what was happening. So I built this to do that watching for me — real, confirmed events pulled from hundreds of sources, sorted so you can find your night instead of hunting for it.
