Takoma Park Community Band Holiday Concert
Sat, Dec 12 · 3:00 PM City of Takoma Park Community Center
Join us for music of the season! Come hear traditional carols along with contemporary arrangements of these familiar songs. Gustav Holst’s ‘In the Bleak Midwinter’ is cleverly woven into ‘Angels We Have Heard on High’. Irving Berlin’s ‘White Christmas’ will provide an atmosphere of nostalgia. ‘Light the Menorah!’ is a rousing medley of tunes from the Jewish tradition. From Broadway musicals, arranger John Higgins has pulled a delightful selection of Christmas songs! If you have never seen nor heard a contrabass flute, a plumbing monstrosity, here is your chance. The flute choir will entertain you with ‘Christmas Time is Here’. Trumpets are certain to dazzle you with ‘Bugler’s Holiday’. Support Community Music!
