Exhibition Talk and Photo Walk With Andrew Glickman
Sun, Nov 1 · 1:00 PM Leica Store Washington DC · Woodley Park
Join us at the Leica Store D.C. November 1st at 1pm for an artist talk with Andrew Glickman followed by a photowalk from 2 to 4:00 pm. Please join the Leica Store Washington, D.C. for an exhibition talk and photo walk with photographer Andrew Glickman on the occasion of his show, Chance Encounters, which is currently on display in the Store’s gallery space. Chance Encounters brings together twenty photographs selected by Glickman and co-curator Debra Klomp Ching. The work exhibited is from several of the photographer’s long-term projects which explore the theatricality of everyday life in public spaces. Public transportation, a near-constant component of Glickman’s life, has been a particularly rich vein for his photography and is featured extensively. Both events are free to attend. An r.s.v.p. is recommended for the exhibition talk because space is limited. More about the Exhibition In Chance Encounters, Glickman frames the human condition as simultaneously collective and profoundly individual. We move through shared spaces and engage in everyday routines while pursuing private narratives that remain invisible to others. Transforming seemingly incidental moments into observations about connection and disconnection, Glickman’s photographs invite us to imagine the stories unfolding within and beyond the photographer’s field of view.
