Big flavors, centuries of brewing tradition, and three beers with serious character. Big flavors, centuries of brewing tradition, and three beers with serious character. This Friday, we're exploring the richer side of European brewing, from a world-renowned Belgian Trappist ale to a velvety Bavarian doppelbock and a historic Scottish strong ale. Expect layers of dark fruit, toasted malt, chocolate, and warming spice. These are beers worth slowing down for, and we'll be pouring and exploring all three from 6 PM to 7 PM. What we're tasting Rochefort 10 Trappist Ale Brewed at the Abbey of Saint-Rémy in Belgium, Rochefort 10 is one of the most celebrated Trappist beers in the world. This powerful, dark Belgian ale delivers remarkable complexity, with notes of raisins, dried figs, dark chocolate, coffee, and warm baking spices. Rich and full-bodied, with a smooth, warming finish that beautifully balances its 11.3% ABV. A true classic of Belgian brewing. Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock From Bavaria's renowned Ayinger brewery, Celebrator is a masterclass in malt-driven German brewing. This deep mahogany doppelbock offers layers of toasted nuts, caramel, dark chocolate, and roasted malt, wrapped in a velvety, full-bodied texture. Despite its richness, the finish is remarkably balanced, with gentle bitterness keeping the sweetness in check. One of Germany's great dark lagers. Traquair House Ale First brewed in 1965 at Scotland's historic Traquair House, this distinctive Scottish strong ale is a wonderful example of traditional brewing. Expect rich malt character with notes of dark fruit, plum, vanilla, and a subtle oakiness that brings an almost sherry-like complexity. Deep, smooth, and warming, with a lingering finish that makes it particularly enjoyable during the cooler months. Bonus Get 10 percent off all three featured selections during the tasting.
