"No Country For Mothers"

Sat, Nov 14 · 1:00 PM Northeast Neighborhood Library

No Country for Mothers is a 2026 feature-length documentary that explores the systemic struggles, policy gaps, and cultural pressures facing mothers in the United States. Directed by Raeshem Nijhon and starring activist Reshma Saujani (CEO of the nonprofit organization Moms First), the film highlights how the U.S. remains the only industrialized nation without guaranteed paid family leave, forcing parents to navigate soaring childcare costs and rigid workplace structures alone. The film will conclude with a self-directed discussion for those that would like to continue the conversation.

Welcome to AskAlice

Hi, I'm Alice.

I go out a lot around DC, Virginia and Maryland, and I got tired of losing hours to Instagram Stories and a dozen venue calendars just to find out what was happening. So I built this to do that watching for me — real, confirmed events pulled from hundreds of sources, sorted so you can find your night instead of hunting for it.
