Our histories aren’t just one story. They live in our families, our art, our food, our music, what we make + preserve, what we pass on, and the ways we show up for one another. Kam & 46 is the culinary expression of Vanessa and Elaine , two Fil-Ams sharing their heritage through the flavors of their childhood. Their immigrant roots in Hawaii and California instilled a deep love for their culture, which they now translate into delicious dishes. Kam & 46 is a tribute to their upbringing, an invitation to experience the warmth and traditions of Filipino and Local Hawaii cuisine. They recently opened Small Kine at Union Market . Les and Seda are co-organizers of SAMASAMA . SAMASAMA (Tagalog for "all together") began with the humble mission of celebrating diversity through art and gathering. Founded in Washington, DC in 2016 as a collective art show and benefit celebrating Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, SAMASAMA has evolved to curate year-round programs, events, and partnerships to highlight diasporic narratives and facilitate nuanced dialogue. The mission of SAMASAMA remains honoring ancestral and indigenous roots while pushing creative boundaries to grow our understanding of current and future generations' multicultural identities.

Welcome to AskAlice

Hi, I'm Alice.

I go out a lot around DC, Virginia and Maryland, and I got tired of losing hours to Instagram Stories and a dozen venue calendars just to find out what was happening. So I built this to do that watching for me — real, confirmed events pulled from hundreds of sources, sorted so you can find your night instead of hunting for it.
