5Rhythms Unity Waves with Nima yazdanfar

Fri, Oct 23 · 7:00 PM The Dance Exchange · Takoma

5Rhythms® Waves of Unity Come as you are. Move what you carry. Find yourself in the dance. 5Rhythms® is a dynamic movement meditation practice created by Gabrielle Roth. It is rooted in the understanding that when we put the body in motion, we can quiet the mind, release what we have been carrying, and reconnect with what is alive within us. There are no steps to learn, no choreography to follow, and no right or wrong way to move. You simply bring your body, your breath, your curiosity—and let the movement unfold. Together we journey through the five rhythms of Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness. Each rhythm offers a different landscape to explore, and together they create a Wave—a journey from grounding and connection, through expression and release, into freedom, spaciousness, and stillness. Waves of Unity is an invitation to experience this practice in community—to breathe deeper, soften, sweat, release, connect, and remember what it feels like to be fully alive. We dance with ourselves. We dance with each other. And somewhere along the way, we discover what becomes possible when we move together. Bring your joy, your tenderness, your wildness, your exhaustion, your grief, your celebration. Whatever you arrive with is welcome in the dance. Come move. Come breathe. Come sweat. Come belong. Many stories. Many bodies. One floor. One Wave. Together, we move into Unity.

Welcome to AskAlice

Hi, I'm Alice.

I go out a lot around DC, Virginia and Maryland, and I got tired of losing hours to Instagram Stories and a dozen venue calendars just to find out what was happening. So I built this to do that watching for me — real, confirmed events pulled from hundreds of sources, sorted so you can find your night instead of hunting for it.
