EqualiTEA - A Turning Point
Sun, Nov 15 · 2:00 PM Workhouse Arts Center
The Woman's Suffrage Movement started with an afternoon ladies' tea, but it wasn't always so civil. On the night of November 14, 1917, several suffragists who were arrested while protesting were brought to the Occoquan Workhouse. These women experienced what was known as the Night of Terror. Following our tea service, guests will learn more about this fateful night and why it was considered a turning point in the fight for voting rights.
