“The Political Scene” podcast offers rigorous political coverage and incisive analysis from The New Yorker . Every week on the Washington Roundtable, the veteran staff writers Susan B. Glasser , Jane Mayer , and Evan Osnos gather to dissect the week’s news, trading impressions and connecting the latest stories to bigger questions in American politics today. Join the hosts of “The Political Scene” for a live taping examining the 2026 midterms and what lies ahead, with audience questions. Glasser writes the weekly “Letter from Trump’s Washington” column for The New Yorker and previously served as the top editor of several Washington publications, including Politico and Foreign Policy . Mayer won the 2025 George Polk award for her exposé of Pete Hegseth and is the author of Dark Money , among other books. Osnos, who has been a staff writer since 2008, is the author of The Haves and Have-Yachts , on oligarchy and excess, and Wildland: The Making of America’s Fury.
