Virginia Opera: Pagliacci

Sun 22 Nov · 2:00 PM GMU Center for the Arts

Music and libretto by Ruggero Leoncavallo The November 22 performance will be audio described. The November 21 and November 22 performances will be captioned. (Both performances provide surtitles on a screen above the stage. Art imitates life—and life can take unexpected turns. A traveling troupe of comedians arrives in a lively town, ready to bring laughter to the stage. But behind the painted smiles and playful costumes lie secrets, jealousy, and a hidden love affair that threatens to tear the group apart. As the story they perform begins to mirror their own turmoil, the line between stage and reality starts to blur. What begins as an evening of lighthearted entertainment erupts into a suspenseful tale of heartbreak, suspicion, and revenge. Pagliacci is a riveting, fast-moving drama that shows what happens when emotions run too deep for any mask to hide. This opera contains adult themes and is recommended for ages 13 and older. Tickets: $115, $75, $45; half-price for youth through Grade 12

Welcome to AskAlice

Hi, I'm Alice.

I go out a lot around DC, Virginia and Maryland, and I got tired of losing hours to Instagram Stories and a dozen venue calendars just to find out what was happening. So I built this to do that watching for me — real, confirmed events pulled from hundreds of sources, sorted so you can find your night instead of hunting for it.
