Fri, Jan 15 · 8:00 PM GMU Center for the Arts

Stanislav Kochanovsky , conductor Nikolai Lugansky , piano Sergei Rachmaninoff : Piano Concerto No. 2 Zoltán Kodály : Concerto for Orchestra Béla Bartók : The Miraculous Mandarin – Suite Presales begin October 21 for applicable groups (*see below) and tickets go on sale to the general public for fall NSO performances at the Center for the Arts on October 28. Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 unfolds in melodies that linger long after they first appear—tender, yearning, and full of desire. Pianist Nikolai Lugansky , renowned for his interpretations of Rachmaninoff, joins conductor Stanislav Kochanovsky for this famous concerto, which has served as the emotional soundtrack to film, television, and popular culture for generations. The evening continues with Kodály’s vibrant, too-rarely-heard Concerto for Orchestra and music from The Miraculous Mandarin , a ferocious, expressionist concert suite derived from Bartók’s 1919 pantomime ballet. Welcome to AskAlice

Hi, I'm Alice.

I go out a lot around DC, Virginia and Maryland, and I got tired of losing hours to Instagram Stories and a dozen venue calendars just to find out what was happening. So I built this to do that watching for me — real, confirmed events pulled from hundreds of sources, sorted so you can find your night instead of hunting for it.
