Advanced Improv: The Armando
Sat, Jan 9 · 2:00 PM DC Improv · Dupont Circle
Saturdays, January 9 - February 6, 2 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Graduation show February 13 at 3:15 p.m. in the DC Improv lounge. With instructor Chris Ulrich. The Armando is a long form improv structure in which a monologist shares short stories from an audience suggestion that reflects true events or honest experiences. Using the monologist's detailed stories as inspiration, improvisers will be challenged to create a series of scenes and character interactions, exploring the interesting or absurd themes and ideas to discover what is funny about them. This format will challenge you to be a powerful story teller and keen listener in the moment to create a playful, funny world from a story. If you're open to being honest, vulnerable and DFF (down for fun), come play. Prerequisite: A level 3 improv class or some experience with long-form improv. All sales are final. There are no refunds or exchanges. Admission Policies Patrons must be 18 or older to attend events or classes at the DC Improv. Any exceptions are clearly noted in the event descriptions on dcimprov.com.
