Chemistry Seminar: Mary Watson (University of Delaware)

Fri, Nov 13 · 10:00 AM Funger Hall · Foggy Bottom

Room 103. Please join the GW Department of Chemistry for a seminar featuring Mary Watson, professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Delaware. Watson will discuss "Deaminative Cross-Couplings." Seminar Details The ubiquity of alkyl amines and the ease of their synthesis makes them attractive precursors fora variety of transformations. In contrast to their classical use as starting materials for complex nitrogen-containing products, we have developed a suite of deaminative methods to convert primary amino groups (NH2) into various carbon substituents via Katritzky pyridinium saltintermediates. Our recent progress will be discussed, including enantioselective and difunctionalization reactions, along with peptide macrocyclization strategies

Welcome to AskAlice

Hi, I'm Alice.

I go out a lot around DC, Virginia and Maryland, and I got tired of losing hours to Instagram Stories and a dozen venue calendars just to find out what was happening. So I built this to do that watching for me — real, confirmed events pulled from hundreds of sources, sorted so you can find your night instead of hunting for it.
