Thu, Nov 12 · 6:30 PM Mason Community Arts Academy/GMU
College Audition Seminar and Workshop Ages: 15 - 18 Time: 6:30pm - 9:00pm Dates: Thursdays, November 12 and 19 (two weeks) Join us for an informative seminar for students and parents to prepare for the competitive application and audition process for BFA programs in acting or musical theatre. In the first week, parents/guardians and students will gather together for an informational session. In the second week, students will attend a small group coaching session, to prepare and polish the required materials and build a mindset to succeed. This class is a wonderful supplement for the student performer who is preparing to compete for college admissions. Class will include reviewing and assessing chosen materials, assembling interview packages, comparing curricula, tracking requirements and ideal candidate profiles, and mindset work for success in the process. Students will also receive audition technique work and coaching on their audition materials in week two. Students are strongly encouraged to bring their selected audition materials to the first class for review or discussion. If your student has not confirmed their audition materials yet, sourcing a few options before class begins would be helpful! This class is for the upper grade theater performer who is dedicated to in-depth study, willing to take notes and challenge their skills with using physical and vocal expression to apply acting techniques materials. Previous theatre experience is necessary to reap the most benefits from this course.
