Wed, Oct 28 · 7:30 PM Elliott School of International Affairs · Foggy Bottom

Room 113. Authoritarianism Is Accelerating. The Midterms Are Coming. Here’s What You Can Do. Steven Cash, Executive Director of The Steady State Project, joins George Washington University Democracy Matters to discuss how to protect American democracy before the upcoming midterm elections. Authoritarianism in American government is accelerating, and the upcoming midterm elections may be one of the most important opportunities to push back. In this conversation, Steven Cash, the Executive Director of The Steady State, will explain what is at stake and what students and community members can do in the weeks leading up to Election Day. Whether you are already politically active or just starting to pay attention, you will leave with practical steps you can take right away. The guest speaker is Steven Cash, Executive Director of The Steady State, a former CIA operations officer, DHS senior intelligence official, and Senate counsel who helped draft post-9/11 national security legislation.

Hi, I'm Alice.

I go out a lot around DC, Virginia and Maryland, and I got tired of losing hours to Instagram Stories and a dozen venue calendars just to find out what was happening. So I built this to do that watching for me — real, confirmed events pulled from hundreds of sources, sorted so you can find your night instead of hunting for it.
