Energy Efficiency in Vertical Farming | What UDC Research Found

Thu, Nov 12 · 9:00 AM University of the District of Columbia – Van Ness Campus

Uncover insights and practical strategies that make vertical farming more energy-efficient and cost-effective. How Does Energy Relate to Growing Food? Indoor vertical farming is changing how urban cities grow food. This innovative agricultural technique uses roughly 90% to 98% less water than traditional farming methods by recycling and filtering water in resource-efficient irrigation systems. This process helps conserve resources while supporting pesticide-free food production. Join us at the UDC Van Ness Campus for a free educational event to explore indoor farming and share research findings on how farmers can reduce energy use in vertical farming. Event Details: Discover practical energy-saving strategies and explore innovations in sustainable food production. Learn about indoor agriculture opportunities happening right here in DC. Connect with farmers, restaurants, and organizations working in urban food production. Enjoy fresh bites with fellow members of DC’s food community. Free. Open to the public. Space is limited. Welcome to AskAlice

Hi, I'm Alice.

I go out a lot around DC, Virginia and Maryland, and I got tired of losing hours to Instagram Stories and a dozen venue calendars just to find out what was happening. So I built this to do that watching for me — real, confirmed events pulled from hundreds of sources, sorted so you can find your night instead of hunting for it.
