War, Memory, and the National Mall - In Person

Fri, Nov 20 · 10:30 AM S. Dillon Ripley Center · National Mall

Every monument, memorial, and historic site reflects a series of choices about what to honor, how to tell the story, and what lessons future generations should take away. By looking closely at monuments, you can gain insight into the events they represent and the values and priorities of their creators. Few places offer a richer opportunity for such an exploration than Washington’s National Mall. Historian Christopher Hamner leads a day of discovery that visits the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, World War II Memorial, and Ulysses S. Grant Memorial.

Welcome to AskAlice

Hi, I'm Alice.

I go out a lot around DC, Virginia and Maryland, and I got tired of losing hours to Instagram Stories and a dozen venue calendars just to find out what was happening. So I built this to do that watching for me — real, confirmed events pulled from hundreds of sources, sorted so you can find your night instead of hunting for it.
