Death Over Drafts, Hosted by The DC Death Collective + Lost Boy Cider
Sun, Oct 25 · 4:00 PM Lost Boy Cider · Old Town Alexandria
Join us from 4-6pm for a NoVA edition of Death Over Drafts! Death Over Drafts is a free and informal gathering for the community: no experience or expectations necessary! The event is co-hosted by The DC Death Collective , a group of friendly people who love creating spaces for people who are open to talking about the sometimes-taboo topic of death. What to expect: The event is free to attend! All are welcome! Come and go as you please. You can still come if you don’t love cider, there are other snacks and drinks! ;) This is a super supportive community, but we are not a support group. We want a comfortable space for everyone. Please drink responsibly and help us keep the atmosphere light. All are invited to enjoy a drink, a snack, and fun conversation where the topic of death is not avoided. Think of it like a happy hour where morbid humor or deep insights are not only not weird but welcomed. We will also have a game called The Death Deck, a Death Over Drafts favorite activity! Everyone dies, and talking about it won’t kill us. Past Death Over Drafts hosts and guests have included death doulas, death poets, and generally chill peeps who are curious about deathy things. Don't ghost us! Let us know to expect you by registering through Eventbrite. Any questions? Email the DC Death Collective: [email protected] The DC Death Collective is a creative incubator and community collective working in the death + grief space. Your host for the afternoon will be DCDC events volunteer Stephanie, who is thrilled to be joined by the founders of The DC Death Collective. More on the History of Death Over Drafts: The founder of the Death Over Drafts movement , Stefanie Elkins, describes the goal as this: “Death over Drafts is a casual and fun community event to spark connection and is part of a growing movement to destigmatize important conversations on end-of-life.” More about Lost Boy Cider here: https://www.lostboycider.com/
