Their vibrant live performances combine traditional and electric instrumentation, creating an experience that's equal parts dance party and community gathering. Rooted in the rich folk traditions of Latin America, the collective also leads educational music and dance programs that strengthen intercultural and intergenerational connections. \*\*\* Chicha Morada is a Washington, DC–based chicha-cumbia band blending psychedelic Peruvian chicha, traditional cumbia rhythms, and elements of salsa.
