Mon, Nov 16 · 7:00 PM Korean Cultural Center · Dupont Circle
The Korean Cultural Center Washington, D.C. (KCCDC) is delighted to host CelloGayageum in concert. This unique duo, formed in Berlin in 2016, features Austrian cellist Sol Daniel Kim and Korean gayageum player Dayoung Yoon. They are celebrated for creating an innovative musical dialogue that bridges Korean musical traditions with diverse global influences. CelloGayageum's performance will showcase original compositions that draw inspiration from Korean folk melodies and traditional gugak, while also incorporating elements from classical music, jazz, and other genres. Their distinctive sound has earned them international recognition, including winning first place at the 2018 Soorim New Wave and appearing on JTBC’s Superband 2. This concert offers a wonderful opportunity to explore the beauty of cultural differences through music. The duo continues to gain international acclaim, having signed with IMG Artists in New York in March 2025. Join us for an evening of captivating cross-cultural music. Admission to this event is free, but an RSVP is required. Please note that RSVP details will be available soon.
