Mabel Ping-Hua Lee & The Role of the 1882 Foundation

Thu, Nov 5 · 6:00 PM Takoma Park Neighborhood Library

In 1912, Mabel Ping-Hua Lee led the march for the right for women to vote in New York City. As an immigrant from China, she couldn’t become an American citizen. Mabel Ping-Hua Lee championed women’s education, civic engagement, and the right for women to vote throughout her life. Ted Gong, executive director of the 1882 Foundation in DC Chinatown, will present Mabel Ping-Hua Lee’s story and the work of the foundation in the District. This event is part of the DC Public Library system’s America 250 programming. For more information or questions, please send an email to [email protected] or call 202-576-7252 .

Welcome to AskAlice

Hi, I'm Alice.

I go out a lot around DC, Virginia and Maryland, and I got tired of losing hours to Instagram Stories and a dozen venue calendars just to find out what was happening. So I built this to do that watching for me — real, confirmed events pulled from hundreds of sources, sorted so you can find your night instead of hunting for it.
