Sake and Sumi-e: A Japanese Sip and Paint 2026

JETAADC hosts its annual Japanese “sip and paint” with artist Mark Malecki, with support from the Japanese Embassy and JASWDC. Join JETAADC for an evening of immersion into Japanese traditional art, food, and drinks. During this sip and paint event, we will learn how to make traditional paintings through the teachings of professional sumi-e painter Mark Malecki, and enjoy a variety of Japanese alcohol and more. We can’t wait to see you there! Tickets will include: paint materials with instructor, food, and a variety of beverages…including SAKE! When: Friday, December 4 Time: Doors open at 5:30pm. Where: Old Ambassador’s Residence, 2516 Massachusetts Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC, 20008 *Please note parking is not available at the Old Ambassador’s Residence, however there is nearby street parking.
